Poker Night With Your Best Buds

It is Friday night again and you're quite apprehensive about spending the night out with your friends because you realize that your salary has dwindled into a very meager amount that would make it difficult for you to get by if you spent it on a night out of drinking and partying.

But, you don't feel like staying at home this weekend. Your girlfriend will go out of town with her parents and this is one of those few weekends you can spend with the boys. Having a girlfriend and spending most of your time with her has made it difficult for you to spend some time with them.

So here's an idea that you should consider…

Try hosting a poker night in your flat. Having one doesn't have to be expensive and it can be quite a lot of fun as well. The first thing that you need to do is round up your buds for a night of betting and bluffing. You could easily ask them to pitch in by bringing some pizza, chips and booze. Then, you could easily raid your fridge to complete the menu for an evening of poker.

The next thing that you should do is set up the place. You'll need a hard and flat surface that is wide enough to accommodate you and your friends to act as the poker table. Of course, having a poker felt layout that would give you the feel of being in a real casino would be great for your poker night. But, if you don't have one, you can easily opt for a game on any table that is wide enough to hold you and your friends.

You should also make sure that you have a complete set of poker chips. The nice ones are usually made of clay or a composite material. These are usually used in casinos and can give your poker night a classy appeal. However in a pinch any set of poker chips would do -- as long as they are complete. If you don't have some, perhaps you could ask one of your friends to bring a set.

You should also make sure that you have two decks of cards in your house. After all, you can't play poker without them. After all, poker is a card game, right?

The good thing about poker night is that there is a chance for you to win some dough that you could use for the week ahead. That is, if you know how to assess your odds or win a lot of hands by bluffing. But, of course, the most important part of this activity is being able to spend some quality time with your friends. You may have some catching up to do and nothing is better for some friendship bonding than a good old fashioned poker night.
